: Hi all,
: It is interesting to read what you all have to say with regard to the Nigerian Constitution. The military should be blamed for the state and nature of the present Constitution. However, I think that it is high time we stopped crying over this issue. The horse has bolted and life goes on. There is an on going process to review the constitution. But I think that the greatest emphasis should be on convening a constittuional conference of elected representatives who will undertake such a review.
: Consequently, Nigerians abroad should abandon the cossy conforts of another man's land and go home to help enthrone real democracy. If we like we can fill the whole web pages of the world with comments, it won't get us anywhere. All Nigerians abroad should remember that the tree of liberty does not grow unless it is watered by the blood of matyrs. At the end of the day, those who only ligitimate link with Nigeria is CNN as well as other networks will be asked by their children, and posterity, for what they did for their fatherland in the time of moral and leadship crisis. It is only when we leave the cossy comfort of America and other developed worlds that the real challenges at home can make meaning. It should be remembered by all Nigerians abroad that the price men pay for running away from their fatherland (and for their indeference to politics at home) is to be ruled by evil men and drop outs.
: Let those who think that they have anything to offer go home and say it and not paste comments on web pages which does not in anyway transform or reshape the situation at home. It only amounts to the rantings of a person who has lost touch with reality. Rantings from abroad do not have any impact on the situation at home and nothing is thereby changed.
: The time to go home and effect the change is now. There are individuals or groups who risked their lives even in the evil days of Abacha. They are still in Nigeria fighting for a better tomorrow for posterity. Posterity will remember them. But with what will posterity remember you for? That you lived abroad in a land organized by others, where you neither belonged nor fully accepted. Very soon, it will cease to be an achievement in Nigeria that one is living abroad.
: Now is the time to go and contribute and to live your footprints on the sands of time.
